As most of you have probably seen by now, we recently launched the Video Hot Spot on the home page. Most of the feedback we've received has been positive, but we also hear the concerns of other folks as far as the whole auto-start thing. The solution we are working on is switching over to a Flash-based player, which will give us more control over how these videos start and how users interact with the media. The last thing we want to do is chase people away from the home page, so sit tight and know this is a top priority for us.
In the meantime, check out the new Blood Drive pedal from Coffin Case. Do these guys know how to market themselves or what?

HC is my go-to website for audio news.. however, since this video thing has been implemented i hardly go to it. its' annoying to have this video automatically play blarind through my system as i scramble to switch sites or find the STOP button.
i hope the autostart can be addressed (removed) so HC can continue to be a site i visit many times a day...

I don't "get" the video decision either. A link to it would be nice.
But the autostart of the video is not good.
How about updating your user reviews? The number one reason I visit.
How about updating "FREE EM REVIEWS" and "FROM AROUND THE WEB" which are all from 2005!
The user reviews should be functioning normally now. Keep in mind that reviews do get rejected for various reasons...I'll be updating the guidelines shortly so folks can understand better what might keep their reviews form getting posted.
As for the home page content, that should be getting an update soon as well with some fresh stuff. There's a lot to do, and it's all on the radar, if not on my plate already:)
I've been looking for better NAMM coverage, I'd rather see the videos as a list of topics to browse through. some have been quite good.
unless you are selling the vid as ad-space, there's no need to see the same clip recycled.

The sound got turned off on the home page video. Much better! I also really like to NAMM video links right under the home page video. Very useful. Looks like stuff is finally happening...
